Data we process
When you access the website, hosting and security infrastructure may process technical log data such as IP address, requested page, date and time, referring page, browser or device information, response status and security events. When you use the private-enquiry form, we receive the name, email address, organisation, topic and message you enter. The form also uses limited server-side anti-abuse checks, including a short rate-limit marker derived from the requesting IP address. When you email us, we receive the content and metadata you provide, which may include your name, organisation, role, contact details and enquiry.
Purposes and legal grounds
- Delivering, maintaining and protecting the website, preventing misuse and investigating security events.
- Receiving and responding to enquiries, preventing form abuse and taking requested steps before a possible engagement.
- Managing professional correspondence, documenting decisions and protecting or exercising legal rights.
- Meeting legal, regulatory, sanctions, compliance and record-keeping obligations where applicable.
Processing is carried out in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, the relevant grounds may include legitimate interests, steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations and consent where specifically requested. Our legitimate interests include secure website operation, effective professional communication and protection of our legal interests.
Sources, necessity and consequences
Most information comes directly from you through the enquiry form, email or another direct communication, or is generated automatically when your device requests a page. You are not required to provide enquiry information, but without sufficient contact and mandate details we may be unable to respond or assess the request. If information is obtained from a professional referrer or public business source, it is used only where relevant and lawful.
Recipients and processors
Personal data may be available on a need-to-know basis to authorised personnel and providers supporting web hosting, security, email delivery, professional advice or business administration. It may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Providers are selected and instructed with appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.
International transfers
Because website, email and business services may operate internationally, data may be processed outside Switzerland, the European Economic Area or your country of residence. Where required, we use recognised safeguards such as an adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism and provide information about relevant destination countries on request.
Retention
Technical logs are retained only for the operational and security period configured by the hosting provider. Anti-abuse markers are used only for a short operational period. Where no engagement follows, enquiries and correspondence are normally retained for no more than 24 months after the last exchange; longer retention may be necessary to meet legal or regulatory duties, resolve disputes or protect legal rights. When data is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymised unless preservation is legally required.
Security
We use proportionate organisational and technical safeguards, including encrypted transport, restricted access, hardened website delivery, server-side input validation and data minimisation. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send identity documents, financial credentials, health information or other highly sensitive material in an initial enquiry or email.
Your rights
Depending on the law applicable to you, you may request access to and correction or deletion of personal data, restriction of processing, delivery or portability of certain data, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent prospectively where consent is the basis. Rights may be subject to statutory conditions and exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
